Richard BransonWhoa. I’m getting used to writing and reading about millions of dollars, but billions still takes my breath away. Richard Branson, the British billionaire behind the Virgin brand, pledged yesterday to invest over $3 billion over the next 10 years to combat global warming and promote alternative energy, according to CNN.

The money will come from the profits of the transportation sectors of his businesses – 100% of the profits. All profits. Wow. The announcement was made during Day 2 of the Clinton Global Initiative.

Watch the video of his announcement.

Thanks for the tip, Kevin!
