Ashley Judd is on the cover of Marie Claire for December and she talks about her work as the global ambassador for YouthAIDS. She shares the story of how she became involved with the organization and what she has learned about the exploitation of women and children in the four years she’s been working with YouthAIDS.

Ashley’s not the only celeb involved with YouthAIDS. Her older sister, country singer Wynonna Judd is the organization’s US ambassador, and actor Josh Lucas works for them as well, and they even have Colombian singer Juanes serving as the ambassador for Latin America.

Next month, they’re launching The YouthAIDS Kick Me Campaign, which features ambassadors Emmy Rossum and Ludacris, to encourage young people to do more to fight AIDS.
