gd.jpgGreen Day is one of the more activist bands; promoting the environment, playing for charities, and now joining the National Resources Defense Council in encouraging American to ‘Move Beyond Oil’. From their Official Fan Site,

“America’s oil habit has put us in serious trouble. Last year, we sent more than a hundred billion dollars in oil money to undemocratic countries in the Middle East. While oil companies are collecting bigger profits than any companies in history, we’re suffering from global warming and watching more and more of our public lands get destroyed by oil drilling.

It’s time to put a stop to America’s oil addiction. That’s why we’ve joined forces with NRDC (the Natural Resources Defense Council) and launched a new website.”

You can check out that website here: GreenDay & NRDC

They also released a pretty cool video that you can check out below. Many thanks to Jeff from Sustainablog for the tip!
