Laurie DavidReuters published a nice interview today with Laurie David, global warming extraordinaire. Here’s my favorite part:

Even with the shift in political power, David said her goal is unchanged: “To permeate popular culture in every way I can to get people to wake up to what is going on.”

She believes Hollywood is doing an admirable job on fighting global warming, from studios like Warner Bros going green to celebrities like Leonardo di Caprio embracing the hybrid cars her family has been driving for years. And what is Larry David‘s role in his wife’s crusade? Well, he drives a hybrid on his HBO show, funds some of her activities and, perhaps most importantly, keeps her laughing.

I like her mission, sounds like what we’re trying to do over here!

She produced Al Gore’s movie, An Inconvenient Truth, which just happens to be out on DVD today. It’s a great stocking stuffer – buy it on Amazon, or buy $200 of eco-friendly bags & accessories from Ecoist and get the DVD free with code: thetruth06. (Full disclosure: Yes, I’m associated with Ecoist, and yes, they are a fab company.) Want to keep purchases to a minimum? Then just rent An Inconvenient Truth on Netflix and invite all your friends and family over for a scary global warming holiday evening.
