April & Luke: Gilmore GirlsGilmore Girls had a little tip of the hat to Al Gore last night. As April (Vanessa Marano) was preparing to go to her first boy / girl party, Luke (Scott Patterson) told her where the wrapping paper was for the gift she was bringing. And April was, like, “Dad, didn’t you see An Inconvenient Truth?” FYI, she didn’t actually make it to the party due to appendicitis.
Something for all of us to think about when giving gifts this year – do we really need to wrap that?

If you’re mourning Sudan the rhino, go vegan

The world needs more vegans because more than dollars or pledges or sad-emoji riddled posts, our individual efforts can stop the demand for horns, for zoos, for animal flesh, and for the exploitation of any living being.

Criticize veganism, but don’t discredit it

Oppressive and harmful behaviour has no place in a movement rooted in anti-oppression.
