pom.jpgPamela Anderson’s recent divorce-woes from musician, Kid Rock, have not stopped her from keeping her on eyes on animal rights. The latest company to come under the gun is juice maker POM. Anderson recently launched a campaign with PETA called, “POM Horrible” (a take on the “POM Wonderful” slogan) over the company’s refusal to halt cruel and unnecessary animal tests. She’s even taken the fight to her website, PamelaAnderson.com, with a graphic video on the campaign and is asking fans to boycott the product until POM comes around. From the article,

“We discovered that in one experiment that POM funded, mother mice were fed POM juice and their week-old babies were locked in a chamber with almost no oxygen for 45 minutes, causing severe brain damage. They were then killed so that experimenters could dissect their brains.
In another experiment, rabbits’ arteries were severed to make them impotent. The rabbits were then fed POM juice to study erectile dysfunction”

Wow. Companies will do some pretty terrible things to make some outlandish claims on their bottles. Pam is encouraging people to buy POMs competitor, the natural juice maker, Naked, instead.

“Considering the cruel experiments on animals that POM is funding, I’m calling on everyone to get Naked..”

I think that’s something we can all agree with!

Stop calling vegan food “cruelty-free”

My Parents Forced Veganism on Me

If vegan parents don’t “force” their vegan values and beliefs on their children, society won’t hesitate to “force” standard American values instead.
