snipshot_9g1e8dnrdw3a.jpgWe’re a little slow to this news story (it broke sometime last weekend) but apparently, a younger Daryl Hannah was almost sold into the sex-slave industry. As a result of these painful memories (which she shared with America’s Most Wanted host, John Walsh) Hannah is now joining humanitarian groups in an effort to combat the growing industry. From the article,

“She was studying theatre in Los Angeles when she leaped at the chance to model for an album cover in Sin City. The 46-year-old told US crime show AMERICA’S MOST WANTED that she quickly realised the modelling trip was a scam and she was about to be forced into a sex-slave ring.

The eco-celebrity said that she and another girl escaped out a window and fled back to Los Angeles, but she has always been haunted by the memory of how close she came to becoming forced into prostitution.”

Yikes. Hannah will be strapping a microphone to her body and going undercover to some of the seediest brothels in the world to document the sick trade. She will be funding the future film with her own cash. She says, “The more I learn, the more I am moved to take action.”
