Pierce Brosnan Honored For Eco-Activism

February 6th 2007

snipshot_b27p52c9jep.jpgLast Thursday, Pierce Brosnan was honored in Berlin with the Golden Camera award for artistic achievement. He was honored for his work in environmental activism — something we’ve profiled here on Ecorazzi several times. You might remember his call to boycott the LNG Depot off the coast of Malibu, his work with protecting horses, or efforts to save the world’s oceans.

Pierce was in good company at the event: Jazz singer Katie Melua, veteran soul singer Lionel Richie, Ghost Rider actor Nicolas Cage and his glamorous co-star Eva Mendes were all in attendance.

Here are the details from the site regarding this event: “THE GOLDEN CAMERA is Europe’s most prestigious and successful entertainment award. THE GOLDEN CAMERA pays tribute to outstanding artistic achievements as well as to recognition and popularity especially within the German audience.

Produced by Europe’s biggest weekly TV-magazine HÖRZU, THE GOLDEN CAMERA was founded in 1965 by publisher Axel Springer and will be celebrated in 2007 for the 42nd time. The award itself is a replica of the world’s first electronic TV camera, a handmade 600 g masterpiece of 18 carat gold plated sterling silver.”
