Ecorazzi checked out the Lunafest at Paramount Studios in Hollywood last night. The festival is dedicated to showcasing films by, for, and about women. So far, the show has traveled to over 100 cities and has raised $350,000 for the Children’s Health Environmental Coalition. It’s the creation of nutrition bar company, Lunabar.
We chatted it up with Melora Hardin of NBC’s ‘The Office’, and definitely caught her green handed – she practically jumped into our green arms! Car? Prius. Supermarket? Whole Foods. Produce? Farmer’s market. Handbag of choice? Ecoist. Kids? No television. As the mother of two puts it she’s “the mom that brings carrots to the birthday party.â€
We would have had a glass of wine with filmmaker Karen Lum, creator of brilliant short Slip of the Tongue, but…she’s only 18. The young film prodigy is finishing up high school and learning a lot from her AP Environmental Science class. Go girl.
Solar was the topic of convo with filmmaker Shaz Bennett. She directed and produced the film ‘Top of the Circle’ about her experiences with the circle of life – which she learned about as a small kiddo when her pet cat ate her pet gerbil.
Lots of talented women talking green, plenty of organic food and wine from Whole Foods, and an array of fun green goodies in the gift bag. Check out where in the US you can attend a Lunafest.
This post was submitted by our LA field reporter, Summer Bowen. When not mingling with the rich and famous, Summer pulls down a full-time gig as owner of the sustainable clothing (and other goodies) company, BTC Elements. Check out her site for some cool green fashion!
