snipshot_b219f55xanxc.jpgI saw Katherine Heigl, of the hit show ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, on Good Morning America today promoting her association with the third-annual Pedigree Dog Adoption Drive. Looking hot as ever, Katherine mentioned that each year, more than four million dogs enter shelters across the United States. Of those, two million do not find homes.

As a result, Pedigree has teamed up with Heigl to promote awareness of pet adoption and encourag people to check out their local shelters first before plunking down big cash on expensive breeds. She held court inside a giant dog house down in Times Square this afternoon to promote the event, while Pedigree hooked people up with information on local NYC dog shelters and gave $1 to the American Humane Association for every pledge signature that they received. Anyone here get a chance to meet Heigl?

Heigl herself has four dogs and admitted to wanting more. With her star quickly rising over Hollywood (and co-star Isaiah Washington’s falling fast!), such future plans should be no problem!
