Pardon the lame image quality. I just snapped a photo of it while watching the segment. I actually stumbled onto it on CNN International halfway through and it turns out that Daryl Hannah was the guest host for that particular episode. It first aired last September 23rd.

I caught the portion wherein Daryl was going around asking people if they knew what the terms carbon neutral, carbon footprint, and offsetting mean.

HANNAH: Nobody seemed to know what any of it was. I mean, I really expected to get, sort of, you know, half people not knowing and half the people actually having some kind of an idea, but really it was 99 percent of the people didn’t have any idea what a Carbon debt was or a Carbon footprint or how to offset it or become Carbon neutral.

The episode also featured tips on offsetting and interviews with several environmental experts. Click here for the transcript of the episode.

Prisons profit from exploiting life and labour

Most young workers don’t want anything to do with manual labour jobs in meat and dairy, and as a result, a large majority of agricultural workers are marginalized people

If you’re mourning Sudan the rhino, go vegan

The world needs more vegans because more than dollars or pledges or sad-emoji riddled posts, our individual efforts can stop the demand for horns, for zoos, for animal flesh, and for the exploitation of any living being.

Criticize veganism, but don’t discredit it

Oppressive and harmful behaviour has no place in a movement rooted in anti-oppression.
