Also, I think a big reason Madonna got so much flak was because she adopted a boy whose dad is still alive. I mean, there are millions of kids whose parents are dead – she couldn’t pick one of them? What she did reeked a bit too much of a privileged white person taking a child from his father (even if the father is poor as dirt and uneducated – it’s his father) (and yes, I’m aware the father had placed the kid with the orphanage; still, he’s alive and could possibly have cared for his son at a later date).
