Amitabh Bachchan recently appeared in a special episode of the TV show Antakshari, which will be airing a succession of six shows all aimed to support street children, among other causes. In that particular episode, Bachchan cheered on several visually impaired children participating in the singing contest and also read a poem for them.

Other stars who took part in a charity event for children are actors Salman and Sohail Khan. They played a charity football game in the city of Pune for the benefit of HIV-positive children.

Seems like Bollywood’s finally taking some steps to help increase AIDS awareness. It’s a big problem in the country, and it’s good that they’re helping out. I wonder if the industry will also be keen on helping out the Committee For Indomitable Women as well.
