Lady Lake, Florida tornado victims recently got a treat from John Travolta. A $30,000 donation, to be precise. John presented the city with a $15,000 check and an extra $15,000 was raised when he charged $300 for a ride with him on his motorcycle from downtown Ocala to the movie theater where his latest film, Wild Hogs, was being shown.

“I just felt the time was right. We’re promoting a movie. I think the best movie openings and promotions are when you can do it for charity and help people. I live here. These are my people.”

It sounds like a nice gesture for the city, and it’s incredible how people pitched in and donated to the cause. But it does makes me wonder how much fuel he burned by taking people to the theater and going back for other passengers.
