Now this is pretty different. Isn’t pink the color usually associated with the breast cancer campaign? But never mind that. Stars like Emma Thompson, Thandie Newton, Nigella Lawson, Rupert Everett, and Sophie Dahl turned up for the Lavender Party held last week at Claridge’s, a London hotel. The event also featured Jamie Cullum, who sang two songs with Sophie.

The Lavender Party aimed to raise funds for The Lavender Trust, which is part of Breast Cancer Care charity. And what better way to raise money than by holding auctions? Some fabulous items were up for bidding, like a Versace evening dress with two tickets to Versace’s September show in Milan and a hair appointment at John Frieda, and even a Burberry trenchcoat and dinner for six people at Hakkasan restaurant in London. I don’t even want to think how much those things cost, hehe.

By the way, Nigella is also helping out the organization with her range of lavender measuring cups. Any earnings from the cups go straight to the Trust.

Veld donates money to farm animals and also serves them

Lest we be confused that their giant V logo stands for anything other than Veld.

Trading beef for beans is not a solution, veganism is

Please do substitute beef for beans, but also have tofu instead of turkey, carrots instead of chicken, and I think you see where I’m going.

Guys, extortion isn’t an effective form of vegan advocacy

Assuming we can extort people into respecting the lives of others makes no sense.
