Harry Potter 7 Goes Green

Harry Potter & crew have been gracing the pages of Ecorazzi lately. Emma Watson recently donated some Potter items to a charity auction for the Wild Trout Trust, while Daniel Radcliffe planned on buying a Prius when he wasn’t posing nude with horses. (Those pics are cropped by the way. I accidentally found the real deal. Whoa. Is it even legal to look at a 17 year old like that? Sorry, I digress…) Today, however, it is the book itself that we are interested in.
The seventh and final in the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is a whopper with 784 pages. This time, however, the US publisher Scholastic has made arrangements for this book to go green. They are working with the Rainforest Alliance to print on paper that has a minimum of 30% post-consumer waste content. The “deluxe” edition of the book is even better - 100% post-consumer! The past several books in the series have followed these standards in Canada and Europe, and Greenpeace is happy to see Scholastic finally on board (they were pretty mad last year), as are we.
I wonder if there are any horses in the Deathly Hallows?
