The Film Your Issue Awards — which launched this year at Sundance — are ramping up promotion of the contest with video from celebrities like Mandy Moore and Billie Joe’s (of Greenday)
Originally slated to end by April 15th (but now extended to May 15th) the awards seek to empower young adults between the ages of 16 and 25 to produce 30-60 second short films on some of today’s most pressing social issues. From the planet, to animal welfare, to human and global issues — all shorts will be considered. The organization has teamed up with such entities as Kevin Bacon’s Six Degrees, the National Resource Defense Council, US Humane Society, and the United Nations. Judges include Wolf Blitzer, Walter Cronkite, Harvey Weinstein, Brian Williams, Mandy Moore, and a host of other incredible individuals.
