I’m so sorry, but I couldn’t resist using ‘Madonna and child,’ which is what this post is about anyway. Lourdes, or Lola, frequently tags along with her mom Madonna on charity work and appearances for good causes, like the time Lola read Madonna’s then-latest children’s book for GOSH.

This week, Lola and Madonna will be in Malawi to oversee some community development projects, and Madonna’s thinking of sponsoring some children, too.

The mother and daughter team, who stepped out in matching combat gear, were guests of Millennium Garden, a project which teaches local people how to grow their own food. An irrigation system which Madonna which helped fund was proudly shown off as villagers explained the difference it has made to their lives.

That’s right, start ’em young, and hopefully she’ll grow up caring about the important issues instead of partying it up like mad with other fellow celebrity offspring.
