Rachel McAdams And Friends Start A New Green Living Website
Filed under: green and famous, healthy living, web — michael @ 8:50 pm

Taking a cue from Arnold Schwarzenegger’s latest speech on the environment, actress Rachel McAdams and some of her best friends have started a website called Green Is Sexy.
It’s not uncommon these days for celebrities to start websites for causes they’re passionate about — especially the environment. Leonardo DiCaprio, Daryl Hannah, and Woody Harrelson come to mind. What is unusual is that McAdams and Co. are making this a real casual affair and looking for your input on tips, sexy green people, and other issues that might help make a difference. From the site,
“green is sexy is about tiny changes, big impact. Why sexy? Because being informed is sexy. Being responsible is sexy. Being eco-friendly is sexy. Making a difference is sexy. Green is sexy. We invite you to become part of the green is sexy community by helping us change the world one day at a time.”
In the words of Borat, “Very Nice!”
Megan, Rachel and Didi all offer profiles about their eco backgrounds and why they believe in the power of green. This is from McAdams profile,
“Today, her bike is still her vehicle of choice and she isn’t above the occasional snow fort. But she’s trying to lighten her footprint on the earth - supporting tree planting organizations, switching her house to green power and developing an OCD for unplugging anything with a plug. She dreams of one day living in a treehouse and being able to grow her own food.”
Who wouldn’t want to live in a treehouse? The ladies also have a “CFL Spotlight of the Month” that highlights people making a difference in the world. This month’s highlight is Steve Fish of Left Feet Shoe Company. You can check out their interview with him here.
Anyways, another beautiful website on green living comes together. Sure, it helps that McAdams provides a little star power behind the label, but anyone putting in the effort online to help others is a celebrity. We just don’t get paid as much. Or at all.
Hit the website for some sexy green advice.
Thanks to Anne for the find!
