Keith Urban Takes His Bio-Diesel Tour To The U.S.

snipshot_e4lrd9s1fro.jpgFresh from rehab and happy to be living a “healthier lifestyle”, country singer Keith Urban is pulling a page from Al Gore’s book and running his entire U.S. tour on bio-diesel.

Apparently, Keith experiment with bio-diesel started earlier this year; while playing to packed houses in the U.K., Germany and other locales around Europe. From the article,

“‘I’m ready. So far the tour has been incredible – fantastic crowds – a great vibe.,’ says 40-year-old country music cowboy, according to Westwood One. ‘I can’t wait to get back to America.” During his 30-city North American tour for his latest album Love, Pain & the whole crazy, Urban’s entourage will include miles of cable and thousands of pounds of machinery that will be running on Bio-Diesel. ‘I’m especially proud to be able to do what we can for the environment,’ says Urban.”

No word yet on where Keith is sourcing his bio-diesel from or if there will be other green initiatives to reduce the footprint of his tour. A great first step nonetheless to promoting alternative fuels and making summer music that much greener.

    Good for him. At least he’s trying to do something. Just think of all those trucks used for touring and how much crap they are putting into the air. Hope others will follow suit.

    I love your site, but you make me seriously ill referencing AL GORE in so many of your pieces! There are so many people out there that are fore-runners of being environmental … AL GORE is just one of many who has gotten a quick claim to fame via a pop movie. Please start giving a little cred to some other leading policy makers, non-profit leaders, advocacy group leaders and even politicians. AL GORE is NOT THE ONLY PERSON out there who is working on this stuff!

AND, the concert was GREAT!
