It’s been a crazy time for everyone’s favorite celebutante jailbird trainwreck heiress. First, Paris Hilton endured being the butt of Sarah Silverman‘s jokes at the recent MTV Movie Awards. Then she went to prison, where she spent three painful days apparently crying, unable to eat, and on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Then she was released back into the world. Then she was ordered to go back to prison! Now we find out that Paris is no longer fighting the justice system and has resigned herself to completing her extended sentence.

And it sounds like she may be thinking more seriously about her life and her future. In a conversation with Barbara Walters, Paris said she has become more spiritual and wants to make a difference in the world.

“She said that she might get toy companies to build a Paris Hilton playhouse for children where sick children might come,”Walters continued. “What she was talking about was that she has a power that she can now use for very different things. She has what she described to me as a spiritual advisor. [She said] “my spirit or soul did not like the way I was being seen and that is why I was sent to jail. “God,” she said, “has released me.”

Ah, who are we to scoff. Paris has done a lot of silly things in the years she’s been infamous, but perhaps the leopard can indeed change its spots. We’ll be keeping an eye on you, Paris!

Many many thanks to Linton for the tip!
