snipshot_e417xpcj43bo2.jpgSaturday Night Live Alum and former Ghostbuster Dan Aykroyd is putting his name behind a new eco-friendly winery in Ontario, Canada. Aykroyd was born in Ottawa and considers the opportunity to lend his name an absolute “dream”. From the article,

“‘We joked about doing a Coneheads vodka or something,’ the 54-year-old actor said, referring to one of his best-known characters on NBC’s Saturday Night Live. ‘And I never thought that a line of wines would be a possibility.’ Construction begins this fall and should be completed in time for the 2008 growing season.”

The name of the business will, of course, be called “The Dan Aykroyd Winery”. Besides showcasing memorabilia from the actor’s more than 30 years in Hollywood, the winery will also feature some excellent models of sustainability. There will be several arrays of solar panels and a waste-water management facility for recycling.

If there’s a limited edition “Slimer Ecto-Cooler” vintage, I’m all over it.

If you’re mourning Sudan the rhino, go vegan

The world needs more vegans because more than dollars or pledges or sad-emoji riddled posts, our individual efforts can stop the demand for horns, for zoos, for animal flesh, and for the exploitation of any living being.

Criticize veganism, but don’t discredit it

Oppressive and harmful behaviour has no place in a movement rooted in anti-oppression.
