Former vice president Al Gore doesn’t stop at the Live Earth concerts. Instead, the environmental guru himself plans on launching a worldwide consumer-generated advertising contest to promote his environmental causes.
Gore made the announcement Thursday night as he was being interviewed on “Larry King Live” about Live Earth.
The contest allows consumers worldwide the chance to submit their own 60-second TV spots that could be used as part of a new three-year ad campaign to raise awareness about global warming.
DirecTV 366, a global television network that Gore helped create, will handle the contest, he said.
This opportunity gives the public a chance to control content in the media for a change. Hopefully, this time around, it’s in the right hands.
