Video: Al Gore’s Holographic Opening Of Live Earth Tokyo

I wrote about this early last Saturday, but hadn’t actually seen anything until just now. Al Gore kicked off Live Earth Tokyo by appearing in holographic form on stage. The 3D presentation features Gore holding the Earth in his palm while shooting fire from his mouth and lightning bolts from his eyes. I made that last part up, but with this technology anything is possible!
As Gore alludes in the presentation, if we can beam him across the world as a hologram, how can we not come up with solutions to other problems the world faces? Where’s the affordable 100mpg car? Why is it so difficult to build efficient homes or back renewable technologies? Why does the iPhone cost so much money?

Wow! That’s pretty incredible. Feels like a sci-fi movie or something.
