In what’s otherwise been a slow news day, leave it to Paris Hilton to inject a little humor…

starThe heiress, jail-bird, and former participant in the television show, The Simple Life, is still managing to remind us all that television can in fact reflect life. Hilton recently bragged to US Weekly about her new green ways saying, “I’ve ordered a Hummer Hybrid.” Of course you have. When a spokesperson for the company was asked to comment she simply replied, “A vehicle like that does not exist!” Sorry Paris — but keep trying! [via NY Post]

starLate night talk show legend David Letterman is being honored by his former alma mater, Ball State University, with a campus building in his name. The $21 million communication and media building is not only a state-of-the-art complex, but also features some green additions as well. Bamboo floors, efficient use of water, materials selection, indoor environmental quality, and a host of other eco-friendly options were implemented to qualify the building for LEED certification. As an aside, during construction 85% of waste material was redirected for recycling. Good on ya, Ball State! [via and sure stars shining]

starFinally, Earth Biofuels, the green-energy company with celebrity backers like Willie Nelson, Morgan Freeman and Julia Roberts — was hit with an involuntary bankruptcy petition in Delaware earlier last month. Apparently, those at the top were less focused on the business plan and a little more interested in the fun of owning a hot company. Sounds like Dot-Com era speak to me. Anyways, we say goodbye. And to think Julia Roberts once plugged these guys on Oprah. [via Forbes]

I thought she said she was through acting dumb to get attention. Oh yeah…she’s not acting!

The spokesperson for Hummer is lying… there’s been hybrid Hummers in existence since 1997… only available for the military though… Check out the website… http://www.greenhummer.info The fact is, General Motors, swooped down on Hummer that same year for the express purpose of squelshing the hybrid Hummer before Arnold could get his hands on one of the prototype… You go Paris… want any help getting one, just contact Electrifying Times magazine, we’ll be happy to put you in touch with the company that makes them.

Ha! A Hummer hybrid, would that mean it would get 10 mpg instead of 8?
