Razzi Snap: Oprah’s Mag Gets Organic Editor, Cameron’s New Green Squeeze

August 16th 2007

Lots of bite-size tidbits coming in, so let’s start dipping.

starNot that Oprah hasn’t incorporated some green action into her media empire in the past; but there’s definitely been some odd red flags regarding her magazine O. We’re hopeful today’s announcement will bode well for future issues with Sarah Gray Miller, former founding editor-in-chief of both Organic Style and Budget Living taking over. Will Miller infuse some eco-friendly vibes into the pages? Will Oprah wear hemp on the cover? Stay tuned. [via jossip]

star Just when we thought Cameron Diaz and David De Rothschild were happily green ever after, along comes news that Rothschild is out and Mayer is in. What’s with this woman? When it comes to environmentally-friendly guys, she’s racking up the points. (Watch your back, Leo) Reports of her and John Mayer dating are circulating the web, but just like any good rumor neither camp is saying anything. [via superchismosa]

starLatin singer/actress Paulina Rubio has revealed her secret to staying young — and wasteful. “ “I wash my face every morning with 30 splashes of water, it cleans a lot more, then I use soap. I do it everyday, when I wake up, and before I go to bed,” she told magazine Para Todos. Can you imagine how long it must take her to floss? [via hollyscoop]

starFinally NPR dishes word that Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein may have been inspired by 19th century climate change. Due to volcanic eruptions during the period of the writing, scholars believe Shelley’s use of thunderstorms and off weather patterns in her story were indicative of what was happening around her. That, or having Frankenstein take place somewhere in the Bahamas might not have created the same level of fear enjoyed by readers. Coin toss. [via treehugger]
