Alyssa Milano is the latest celebrity to help PETA’s efforts, slipping on one of the organization’s now-famous gowns made entirely of vegetables. I would really love to know who designs these gowns, and what they do with the vegetables afterwards.

Bringing new meaning to the words ‘natural beauty,’ vegetarian actress Alyssa Milano dons a spectacular full-length gown made of lettuce leaves – with accents of kale and an asparagus bodice—in PETA Asia-Pacific’s sexy new campaign, “Gawing Gulay ang Buhay: Go Vegetarian!” Alyssa wears a gown made entirely of greenery including green leaf lettuce, red leaf lettuce, kale, and more than 2 dozen spears of asparagus.

The slogan is in Tagalog, and it’s basically encouraging people to make vegetables part of their lives. It’s pretty interesting, since it’s probably one of the first ads I’ve seen which was written in the language.

Thanks to Ashley Fruno of PETA Asia-Pacific for the info.
