Cosmetic creator Lancome has teamed up with Rag & Bone to create 150 limited edition t-shirts that say “Carbon Free”. Before you go and throw-up over another green branding initiative, know that all proceeds from the sales of these shirts (made from 100% organic cotton in North Carolina and $50 a piece) go towards the Carbonfund ecological organization.
Additionally, Lancome’s “Eco-Chic” project goes beyond the t-shirts. They’ve offset the travel of their models and employees and also gone carbon-neutral at their NYC Boutiques. Internally, the company has worked to reduce the print and media handed out to press by relying more heavily on digital online access and limiting waste. We’d love to see more organic products make it into their line, but we’ll take these first steps as a good sign of things to come. Hit the jump for more.
