Victoria’s Secret is taking its environmental commitment to the next level. According to Fashion Week Daily, the lingerie giant, who committed last winter to stop using Endangered Forests for catalog paper (in response to ForestEthics campaign, “Victoria’s Dirty Little Secret”), announced that it will launch a green apparel line in the Spring of 2008. While the eco-friendly line will only account for a small percentage of the company’s overall product offering, it certainly sets a great example. With chains like Victoria’s Secret, the Gap and H&M adding eco-friendly clothing to their repertoires, other fashion retail giants are very likely to follow suit.

Good news for my bureau and my husband…bad news for my VS charge card balance.
    Thanks for the news!

Hear-hear Erica, that says it all! :-) I adore their clothing line and despise all the poundage in catalogs I’ve gotten (and recyceled) over the years. Now if we can just get their “small percentage” so high it doesn’t have to be called a ‘percentage’.
