Danish model Helena Christensen is planning on dyeing her hair green; if for no other reason than to draw attention to the environment and her eco-friendly lifestyle. The 38-year-old supermodel is currently the face of a campaign urging people to “do a good turn” by washing clothes in colder water to help save the environment. From the article,
“Helena said: ‘Sometimes the environmental issues we face today seem overwhelming, but we can all do our bit and turning our washing machines to 30 degrees (C) is just one small way we can all help make a difference.’”
Christensen has long been a founding member of the emerging green fashion scene; having created an eco-friendly line of clothing for label Monsoon, as well as running a boutique called Butnik, her line of dresses, bags and tops created in a non-electric factory in India. Hit the jump for more!

Interesting. I remember her on some pics with Leonardo i the 90s. Otherwise, I know nothing of her. But it seems pretty silly to dye one’s hair green. I don’t think, it will help the cause. That’s just popularism. LOL.
Actually Helena Christensen is one of the first green model pioneers… In 1998 her and some friends created an eco-fashion magazine called iTch (yes, that’s the way it was spelled) in Denmark… but it was ahead of its time, only had one issue… She went on to help fund Nylon magazine, which in the last couple of years, has embraced the green fashion trend. Nylon was the first fashion magazine in 2001 to give Angela Lindvall’s Collage Foundation some positive attention.
