antm-cycle9.jpgEvidently the ANTM catwalk gets a conscience.  Entertainment Weekly reports that  America’s Next Top Model is going green for Season 9. After describing how “compelling” the girls are, Executive Producer Ken Mok goes on to describe the show’s green plans:

The transportation was a ‘green’ car with biodiesel fuel. The house went green not only aesthetically but in terms of the way energy was used and in tips that we gave all of the girls in the house in terms of using water and electricity.

Will green envy ensue in caddy behavior or will America’s Next Top Model exude an environmental conscience that can actually bring green to a tangible place?  Perhaps it will take its claim of going green to educate the CW younger and more fashion conscious demographic that even the smallest efforts can make a difference and where paraben-free makeup and organic cotton are hailed the real superstars. We won’t hold our breaths, but remain cautiously optimistic. Catch it all on the season premier on the CW September 19.

Veld donates money to farm animals and also serves them

Lest we be confused that their giant V logo stands for anything other than Veld.

Trading beef for beans is not a solution, veganism is

Please do substitute beef for beans, but also have tofu instead of turkey, carrots instead of chicken, and I think you see where I’m going.

Guys, extortion isn’t an effective form of vegan advocacy

Assuming we can extort people into respecting the lives of others makes no sense.
