Don’t forget, Los Angeles! The Abbot Kinney Festival is happening this Sunday, September 30, 2007, in Venice. The festival has gone green, and sounds like a blast.
Plus, they’ve just informed me that the Green Tent will be selling $5 raffle tickets, which will enter you to win everything from a big, flat TV to yoga classes. Here’s what they tell me:
You could win a:
- Hitachi 42″ flat screen TV ($1700)
- Eco-Rider Package ($500): a Red Raleigh beach cruiser bike, a membership to Flexcar with free hours, and month of Core Fusion classes from Exhale (spa and body studio to the stars such as Helen Hunt, Ali McGraw, & Ashley Judd)
- Yoga-Chill Package: a month of Yogaworks Yoga (more famous faces go here!)
So definitely hit up the green tent. You might just want to hang out there all day. It will be action & education packed. Check out the schedule:
10:00 – 10:30am: Greening Schools from Westminister Elementary School Green Team
10:30 – 11:30: Greening Your Home & Business from Grow-Design / Sustainable Works

And don’t forget, if you go, write us and tell us how it went!

I went to this, and overall it was time well spent. I’m not so sure about the Solartech guy who did a sales pitch for his product while dissin’ photovoltaics with grossly outdated efficiency stats, and what the hell makes a Synlawn “green” aside from the synthetic petrochemical products in it is beyond me– but overall it was a pretty cool event, and I got a free Sundance Channel The Green tote bag out of it.
Oh yeah, and Tru biofuels had a Unimog (think three times the size of a hummer) parked in front of Epoxy Box. Even though it runs on waste veggie oil, that’s still a helluva lot of used veggie oil.
