Green Quote: Ed Begley Jr. on Hummers

October 11th 2007

“If you’re going to drive around in a big ol’ Hummer and then buy carbon offsets to mitigate that, that’s like getting drunk on the ends and throwing some money through the window of an AA meeting and thinking you’re doing something.”

–Ed Begley Jr. in an interview with Sprig.

  1. How about if we convert that Hummer to run on Propane??? We can do it! Visit http://www.fireemup.com

  2. It’s called the H2 because it will soon run on Hydrogen, fueled from one of Governor Schwarzenegger’s Hydrogen Highway pumps.

The two men who should have won the Nobel Prize are George Bush and Arnold — because they have done more to advance the cause of hydrogen and fuel cells than any political leaders in the world today.

  3. John, don’t you find it weird that these two pseudo stewards for the environment have chosen the least feasible avenue of alternative fuels? They may have advanced the fuel cell, but you’re only advancing something that takes more energy and resources than it emits. Its like me fighting for running to walk. Use some reason.
