BMW Hydrogen 7 Taking Celebs On Green Rides In Rome

October 23rd 2007

bmw_h7_driving03.jpgThe BMW Hydrogen 7 has been receiving its fair share of promotion lately. Everyone from Brad Pitt to Will Ferrell have taken it for a spin — and the automaker seems keen on making hydrogen the next darling of Hollywood. Granted, the infrastructure (and price) is nowhere near ready to even think about ditching your natural gas/hybrid/gasoline vehicle — but hey, this is the future we’re talking about. Sometimes it works, sometimes it gets left behind.

Anyways, BMW’s Hydrogen 7 is the official limo for the Rome Film Festival happening right now. According to Autobloggreen, some of the high-profile celebs riding high include actors Gérard Depardieu, Jane Fonda, Greta Scacchi and Cate Blanchett and film directors such as Mazzacurati and Francis Ford Coppola.

According to reports An Inconvenient Truth producer Davis Guggenheim will also be receiving the keys to a 7 as part of BMW’s program of giving people the cars to use in daily life for a trial period. Said Guggenheim of the opportunity, “My work on An Inconvenient Truth left me with a profound respect for our planet and the urgency to create change. I am excited to learn about the new technologies that are essential if we are going to solve this great problem. Every mile covered in a hydrogen-powered vehicle like the BMW H7 makes a difference.”

  1. I’m buying a 750 soon… not the most economical car. I wish I could afford this!
