California Rising Supplying Hollywood With Green, Hip Fashion

November 2nd 2007

cali.jpgWe pimp sustainable fashion as much as possible on Ecorazzi — simply because there are a lot of great green shops out there attempting to make a name for themselves in a sea of options. The more eco-friendly clothing we can dish, the better.

Obviously, there’s always an entertainment side to these promotions, as Hollywood has been increasingly paying attention to organic and sustainable clothing options. Babies in particular have been on the receiving end of many a “green” outfit.

Today we take a look at California Rising, a 100% organic and sustainable shop that caters to both sexes, but started out with an emphasis on the guys. Let’s just say it appears the ladies have caught on to their cool styles as well. From their site,

“Exemplified by a commitment to the environment and community, California Rising uses high quality organic fabrics, eco- friendly dying processes, and aligns with like-minded organizations including 1% for the planet to further their goals. Their distinctive collection of sportswear is sure to inspire everyone from trendy teenagers to sophisticated urbanites.”

Celebrities enjoying the brand include Amber Valetta, Khandi Alexander, Rachelle Carson , Carnie Wilson, John Salley, Ryan Seacrest, and others. California Rising also provided all the tees for the 2007 “Green” Emmy Awards and made a splash at the last MTV Video Music Awards in Vegas.

You can check out their current collection online here.

  1. If you are a designer and end up working with CA rising – beware. I had the unfortunate chance to work with them. After being led along for hours and hours and hours designing specific “green” artwork for there line – I was told at the end of the project “oh actually we can’t use any of your work – and we don’t have any money to pay you”. This was truely a waste of not only time – but a lot of energy – (paper, supplies, computer, printing, phone calls, you get the point.) This work was anything but green if you ask me.

  2. Hey, just wanted to let you know that I gave California Rising a shout out in a recent post. You might like to check out the article. http://www.womenslifelink.com/healthy-fashion/

I love your site! I will be back.
    Thanks,
