The Green Picture: Daryl Hannah’s Biodiesel Car Is BadAss

You know that possessed car from Stephen King’s movie Christine? I think Daryl Hannah owns it. In black.

Daryl was spotted cruising LA  in her badass-biodiesel-labeled mobile earlier last week. The thing may have a green soul, but we wouldn’t want to mess with it.

  1. This almost makes me wish I’d kept my ‘72 Mercury Marquis! A biodiesel engine would probably doubled my fuel economy. I like to see celebrities actually practicing what they preach, it makes them so much more credible!

  2. [...] Check it out and other green celebrities at EcoRazzi [...]

  3. [...] Darryl Hannah drives a freaky biodiesel car [...]

  4. [...] biodiesel El Camino before, but only with the vehicle in the background. Ecorazzi has now posted a nicer image of the iconic vehicle that shows off the gothic “Biodiesel” lettering on the back [...]

  5. [...] El Camino before, yet only accompanying the carriage in the background. Ecorazzi has now placed a nicer image of the iconic carriage that shows against the gothic “Biodiesel” lettering on the back [...]

  6. So much for freedom of speech, Econazi. You never included my rant about why Darrel “hasbeen” Hannah’s converted El Camino is a travesty…

  7. That’s because you’re a hack for Honda and their alternative energy technology — which is fine, hey it’s great to see them advancing with cards like the Honda FCX. But you’re not very open to other technologies or companies — in fact, you’re downright caustic. So yes, I’ll be keeping a close eye on your comments.

  8. Whoa Michael - it looks like this Mr. Know it All (Honda hack?) is caustic. Now we want to see what has been written…come on share it with us wontcha?

  9. Mikey - you’ve resorted to namecalling, (what happened to troll?) how amateurish, but that’s what we get from a site that has “gossip” in its title…
Just a life long (much longer than your’s) fan of Honda and their industry leading, progressive company. It’s just too bad that your site appears to ignore the leader, for whatever reason. If you’re being paid by GM, Ford, BMW, and Chrysler than just be up front about it, otherwise get on with the open, honest truth, instead of perpetuating misinformation and disinformation from these other companies. As an on-line journalist (have a Journalism Degree?) you owe your readers the truth! STOP CENSORING THE TRUTH!

  10. Namecalling? You stoop to calling someone a Nazi and “hack” hurts your feelings? Wow.

“If you’re being paid by GM, Ford, BMW, and Chrysler than just be up front about it”

Yes, and everyone who writes about these companies is being paid by them. Great accusation.

“It’s just too bad that your site appears to ignore the leader, for whatever reason.”

Ignore the leader? What are you talking about? We provide fair coverage to every company making strides to make more efficient, green vehicles as it relates to the entertainment industry.

You, on the other hand bash these companies and beat the Honda drum without even keeping an open mind on other technologies and brands available. Need proof? Why don’t you scroll through some of your earlier comments:

So cry me a river on your giant Honda pillow. When you’re ready to actually have real conversations about these technologies, we’ll be waiting.

  11. Ohhhhhhhhhh snap. You just got served Know it All. Is it on? Oh it’s on!

  12. Trolls like Mr. Know It All remind me why the internets is sometimes called the world’s largest insane asylum.

Mr. All, curl up with a nice bottle of lithium and find a good Kennedy assassination thread somewhere. Perhaps you could expound upon why JFK wouldn’t have died if the limo he was riding had been made by Honda.

  13. Mr. Know it all…..I hate to remind you but this is a GOSSIP site. If you have such a problem with celebs and what they are doing to help this green movement (which by the way could use all the help it can get) then why the hell are you reading this site? Maybe they should change the name to “hondalebrity”…would that be better for you?
Why not try to focus on the good instead?
Not one of your posts has been positive….I think it is great that DH is out promoting awareness and using her name to get on web sites like this one.

  14. Guys, ladies, everyone, let’s just all agree on one thing: Mr. Know It All SUCKS!!! Operation attack the mean blogger commence…NOW!!!!!!

  15. IT IS UGLY. HATE IT. IT HAS A CRAP FLAT MATTE PAINTJOB AND THE BIODIESEL SEEMS LIKE A LOT OF TROUBLE IF YOU ASK ME. TIL THEY GIVE BIODIESLE TO US AT THE PUMP I WOULD NOT BUY A CAR THAT I HAD TO GO THOUGH SO MUCH TO GET ITS FUEL. SHE CAN KEEP HER CAR.

  16. This could be a very informative site if the 12 year olds would stop the ranting and name calling! I found this website this morning, right after I drove my big mother of an SUV to the closest gas station to fill up and get a cup of coffee.

  17. Gee, I just wanted to leave a comment about how U-G-L-Y that El Camino is! I think El Camino’s are cool enough, and biodiesel is great, but whats up with the flat black paintjob? Looks like it’s being primed for the real thing….

Oh, well, Darryl’s ugly too, so her car fits her to a T.

  18. all the personality bashing & not a word about ” made in the USA “.!! I’v never owned a ferun car & never will.
    USA has the real muscle.

  19. Michael,

I just wanted to say that the reason why I come back to this site day after day is that you and your other editors really do offer a completely objective look at what is going on in the alternative energy world. You’ve never once shown a bias to any certain fuel or technology. Believe me, that is VERY hard to find these days. And best of all, you’ve kept it fun and entertaining along the way. Please keep up the good work and the positive look at what ALL of the OEMs are working on in ALL forms to help get our country off of foreign oil and reduce CO2 emissions.
