My family and I are big fans of Larry David's HBO series Curb Your Enthusiasm, where Danson and his wife Mary Steenburgen co-star on a pretty regular basis.

At any rate, this past season David and Danson both get involved in some philanthropic efforts. David's wing in the museum is named for him. Danson's wing in the museum simply reads anonymous, but word quickly spreads that Danson is "anonymous". Then in true Larry David fashion, they go-to-town with the plot line from there.

What I'm wondering...

Obviously Danson being a good friend of David's willingly participated in that episode. It's not like it was a Saturday Night Live style parody.

So is it safe to say Danson didn't feel the tongue-and-cheek ridicule of "anonymous" donors hurt any of his causes?

Could it have actually even helped raise awareness of Danson's efforts?
