Aretha Franklin Not Hitting Any High Notes With PETA
Filed under: animals — michael @ 10:11 am

While legendary singer Aretha Franklin may be upset at Beyoncé for honoring Tina Turner as the “queen” at this year’s Grammy Awards, PETA is turning the spotlight on her use of massive fur coats. The animal rights group thinks Franklin should think of herself as less a queen and more a joker. From the article,
In a letter to Franklin, PETA spokesperson Dan Matthews writes, “Music lovers may think of you as a ‘queen,’ but to animal lovers, you are a court jester . . . Why not shed the old-fashioned look that adds pounds to your frame and detracts from your beautiful voice? Please consider donating your furs to the homeless as ‘queen of compassion,’ Mariah Carey, did. You’ll get a tax credit for the donation, and we at PETA will all sing your praises.”
PETA’s Jack hilariously compares the above photo to a walrus in a cat costume. Funny stuff.

looks to be about 50 baby seals wrapped around her fat ass.
While I don’t Agree with real fur, PETA is just about as guilty for Animal Cruelty as anyone else. They are quite the Hypocrites.
To The Pet Peta Folk:
This is America, and you have your rights too, but you must not know or believe that the Black American Culture is no longer property. We too along with all of our other supporting America’s Country Comrades have freedoms just like your supporters… Freedom of voice, expression is each individual’s choice. As an American People whom has endured the deepest of suffering within America, at least we and our many Supporters fought with great dignity. We did this long before PETA, a rightfully animal concern organization, was a thought in America’s society. Also the way in which Black people fought for it was not in insulting, demeaning, or attacking the ones or things that we advocated against. We did it in a peaceful and civil way in which the American Founding Fathers envisioned for their constitutional laws to lead and guide the Country. Remember we were treated just or worst as you believe your beloved animals are treated by some. We are human, and still some still want to subject Black People and Poor People to inhumane conditions. Please, pick up a book, read about Lincoln, Douglas, Truth/ Mother Jones, Anthony, F. D. & E. Roosevelt / Wiesenthal, King, The Kennedy Family, Chavez, NAACP and so many Elite Movers and Shakers of America!!! Just because your cause is for the proper treatment of animals does not mean that PETA needs to behave as if its organization has the BRAIN capacity of the animals. You will not stop everyone from wearing what they like. A general friendly letter though, first… stating your positive recognition for Ms Franklin, second…explaining and sending pictures of what is actually done to animals to get the fur, and thirdly… understanding that items may have already been purchased before PETA even was a thought in a person’s mind. So maybe then you could do a promotional I.D. Tag of Vintage Fur(Hey sometimes Compromise bring about the long term Progress needed or wanted). Also include strong Non-Intimidating Suggestions and a pleading request (Key- Word… Request) for her to consider making some type of effort in becoming a part of the great Cause too!!!
