I think this is a prime example of completely backward cultish vegan thinking. If he’s so concerned about animal welfare, why doesn’t he only grow and harvest his own food? It’s certainly plausible that during the growing animals could be killed by pesticides, or killed by other animals encouraged by the farmer to come (ladybugs for example), which is also “cruel” is it not? Charles Manson is in prison even though he never actually “killed” a single person. Only mandated it. If Toby is so concerned about animal welfare that he won’t allow guests into his home wearing leather garments, I sure hope he doesn’t wear any clothes made from oil. (Pleather, PVC, et al) The production of synthetic leather garments harms animals from start to finish, through displacement of their natural habitats, to disposal which introduces numerous immensely harmful chemical compounds into ecosystems all over the world. And don’t forget about oil spills like the Exxon Valdiz. Get off your high horse and understand that we are all co-opted.

Now ask yourself which is more unethical; wearing a used leather jacket, which will break down naturally over time causing no long term damage to the enviornment, or a pleather jacket, which will break down into toxic molecules that will be harmful for thousands and thousands of years?

oh man thats so hot. im a vegan and had to give up all my leather bags because it made me feel sick. I have so much respect for him now and it is great to have him join the vegan community!
