grenier.jpgIt was been announced that Entourage star Adrian Grenier will be the recipient of the 2008 Blue Sky Award for Environmental Activism. The honor is handed out each year at the Vail Film Festival held in Colorado in April. More than 75 independent films are screened over 4 days — with about 12,000 people descending upon Vail, Colorado for the long weekend.

Grenier’s commitment to environmental issues has long been a focus outside of the actor’s successful television, movie, and documentary projects. He has a home in Brooklyn that utilizes insulation made from recycled jeans, energy produced by solar panels, and other sustainable elements. Most recently, he signed on with Discovery Channel’s Planet Green to create a series “that will illustrate how making small changes in everyday living can be cool and simple.” Tentatively titled The Green Life, the show is expected to debut early summer ‘08.
