Ben Jelen — who recently performed at the SXSW Music Festival — is a rising singer-songwriter with a passion for the environment. You’ve probably heard some of his music on shows such as One Tree Hill, Smallville and Las Vegas.

Jelen has been involved with several environmental organizations, but recently decided to pursue a more direct approach by forming his own foundation. To that end, The Ben Jelen Foundation will help support green initiatives around the world that work to battle climate change and promote sustainability. It’s just gotten off the ground, but you can check it out here for additional information. You’ll also notice that Ben has some green educational materials on his website — as well as a recent blog entry that ponders a sustainable Fiji Water company (Don’t fall for the greenwashing, Ben!) and recycling woes while on tour. His latest video — which carries a heavy theme of global warming and the environment — is below.
