Photos Of Angelina Jolie’s Twins Could Mean Millions For Charity

shiloh.jpgBack in 1989, photos of Lisa Marie Presley’s baby brought in $100,000 from buyer Star magazine. These days, that’ll get you a picture of a baby’s ear lobe, much less the full package. Most recently, People shelled out an incredible $6 million to Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony for the first photos of new twins, Max and Emme. Now, word on the street is that Angelina Jolie’s expectant fraternal twins may be worth as much as $10 million to industry players.

While people often gasp at these numbers, it’s important to remember that in the case of the Jolie-Pitts, it’s charity organizations that often come out the big winners. Back in 2006, after the birth of her first biological daughter, Shiloh, Jolie had this to say,

“While we celebrate the joy of the birth of our daughter, we recognize that two million babies born every year in the developing world die on the first day of their lives. These children can be saved, but only if governments around the world make it a priority.”

According to reports, that cash went both to UNICEF and the couple’s Jolie-Pitt Charity Foundation.

So, if magazines are willing to dish out the dough — in Jolie’s case, we say bring it. Seems like a win/win — even if the idea itself sounds ridiculous.

    It’s hard to believe we’ve gotten to this point that this money can’t be donated all to charity. The Jolie-Pitts contributed $8 million in 2006 with a gross salary of what? I’m sure it’s not even a 10th of what they make plus it was a write off as well as the adoption of Zahara and Pax which was a double write-off for each. Come on. Let’s quit sensationalizing these actors and get REAL with the facts and distributions.

    There’s alot of charities that really need help because all the money is being paid to these celebrities and not to those in the communities who really need help.

    I’m sorry I’m not impressed with the Jolie-Pitts or the Marc Anthony’s.

    I agree – selling pictures of your children and calling it a “donation” (when you are really giving the money to your own foundation) is not sincere giving – it is a sizable tax write off against your own tax obligations. A sizable “donation” which they still control. Then to notify all the news agencies about how generous they are is really an example of pontification.
    Please, these two are really quite vulgar and not fooling anybody.

    This one goes out to you Sigmeund…For you to make such statements, you obviously don’t know a thing about philanthropic work. You come across as ignorant so next time you are wanting to make a comment, make sure that you know what you are talking about…

    And this one is for you Sa…Life needs leaders not followers. This entire country is about write-off this, write-off that…It is better to announce to the world what one is going to do with the money they are going to receive from their “famous” children’s first photos. We all know that they will be getting a boat load of money so why not try to make example of it. You both come across as envious…from now on, why don’t you two set a goal to make a difference and improve one person’s life in your lifetime. I am not talking about your children either!!!

    Who cares which foundation they are giving it to – at least they know where the money goes – if they give it to another foundation they would be paying someone “non-profit” salary – what a joke! You two are obviously clueless about humanitarian work and running a foundation…
