Jeff

I think you're wrong about your assertions.
1) Please name your NASA source about the planet being colder. It would certainly be reassuring to see, but I dont think it exists. Or at least it goes against all the science I've been reading, so please provide a link
2) We are drilling in the gulf Coast and the amount of oil in ANWAR would run the US economy for about 2 weeks. IT would make the oil companies allot of money sure, but I dont think thats enough oil to significantly change things.
3) We're not building new refineries because the big oil companies know we're approaching a peak in world oil production and its not worth it to them. Believe me they wouldn;t be stopped from building refineries if they thought it profitable. That argument is a Red Herring
4) I agree with you about ethanol, but that is an approach pushed by Bush and the farming states, Gore has been more nuanced about it

So I think your assertions are untrue and unfair and if you want to change my mind you should provide a link to sources that support your point

Let me get this straight. The only "skeptic" Leslie could think of is Cheney? What a puff piece. An Inconvenient Truth was so good it won an Oscar. Sheesh.

Al Gore is a buffoon. CBS is a pawn. Leslie Stahl, is a moron.

Perhaps Al-god and Ms. Stahl missed the news a couple of weeks ago that NASA, along with three of the other organizations worldwide announced that the temperature of the planet in 2007 was actually nearly one full degree cooler than the average from the entire previous century; wiping out all of the temperature gain of 100 years.

Perhaps they also missed the news that the winter of 2007-2008 has been the coldest on record in the Northern Hemisphere since 1966; and that at the beginning of March 60% of the Northern Hemisphere was covered in snow. Oh, and the ice coverage at the Arctic Circle is between 10 and 22 cm thicker this winter than at the same time last winter.

NASA recently sent 3,000 robot surveyors into the oceans of the planet, only to discover confirm that the temperature of the water of our oceans is cooling, not warming.

Gore is the most dangerous man on the planet right now, and he must be stopped, before he destroys the economy of not only America, but of the world, with his idiocy.

CBS should be forced off the air by boycott for being a willing accomplice, just as should NBC (owned by General Electric; which has the patent on compact fluorescent light bulbs, and has a lobbying budget in Washington DC that is three times that of all of the US oil companies combined.

Already we're becoming the first civilization in the history of the world to convert our food source into fuel. Not only is that unconscienceable, but Ethanol is less efficient, and pollutes more than oil.

Our economy is based on oil. If we were allowed to drill in the Gulf of Mexico (along side Cuba and China), and in ANWAR, and off the west coast, we would have more than enough oil in America. If we could also build more refineries without having to go through all of the red tape thrown up by the nut jobs, we would be filling our tanks at less than a buck a gallon.
