Hip-hop/blues musician G. Love (front man of G. Love & Special Sauce) and singer-songwriter and guitarist Tristan Prettyman will join volunteers and perform live at special celebrations in honor of the 2008 Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project. The campaign, which runs from May to August, will be done in conjunction with the Surfrider Foundation - a grassroots, non-profit environmental organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s oceans, waves and beaches. From the article,

“‘In the second year of the project, we look forward to making an immediate and positive impact on four new beaches,’ said Matt McClain, Director of Marketing and Communications for Surfrider Foundation. ‘These events show people how important the smallest action, like picking up litter, can help on the grander scale and preserve our beaches for generations to come.’ Barefoot, the award-winning California wine, has been an active supporter of various not-for-profit organizations for over 20 years. Since its inauguration in 2007, the Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project has donated $250,000 to the Surfrider Foundation in support of its mission to improve coastal water quality, promote free and open beach access, preserve coastal ecosystems and protect public beaches around the world.”
