Living With Ed Jumps From HGTV To Planet Green

May 20th 2008

Looks like Discovery is throwing big bucks around to leverage as much cool green content as possible.

Word filtered down yesterday that HGTV has agreed to lease the current 19 existing episodes (Seasons 1 & 2) of Living With Ed for Discovery’s Planet Green network. As we’ve covered time and time again, the series deals with the green (and amusing) lifestyle of Ed Begley Jr. and his “lite-green” wife Rachelle Carson. It’s been a big hit for HGTV — and apparently PG was determined to acquire. From the release,

“‘Ed Begley, Jr. is a veteran of green living and a passionate advocate for the environment,’ said Eileen O’Neill, President and General Manager, Planet Green. “LIVING WITH ED gives viewers a candid look at what it’s like to live in an eco-friendly way every day with great information and a heavy dose of fun.”

‘I am so pleased LIVING WITH ED is going to be a part of Planet Green,’ said Ed Begley, Jr. ‘I’ve had a great time making the series and look forward to continuing to share the show with its many fans.’

Is there any eco show out there that can resist the giant green circle?

Sundance, hang tight!

  1. Love it! This is the best show available and Ed is right on the mark. I love his quirky life and his beautiful and honest wife Rochelle.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this show and give out copies as gifts at the EcoFairs I attend.
I just wish he would speak at the Huntington Beach Green Expo on September 20th! There is no one better to hear speak on the subject!
    He’s the MAN!

  2. Enjoy your show so much. Just received my “Begley’s Best” window cleaner and general purpous cleaner and tried them out. Great! I really appreciated getting the products packed in newspaper instead of styrofoam. For years I’ve been requesting newspaper packing when ordering things by mail or on-line. Most companies are happy to comply. Do encourage your fans to try this. Keep up the good work. Gail Ruff

  3. I just love Ed. He has great ideas. Keep up the good work
