After yesterday’s pisser of a rainstorm on Sharon Stone’s remarks that China somehow deserved the earthquake tragedy due to past acts , the actress has received her own whack of the karma stick. Besides her movies being forever banned in the nation’s largest chain of cinemas, French fashion house Christian Dior also dropped her from advertisements in the country. In response, Stone issued an apology saying,

“‘Due to my inappropriate words and acts during the interview, I feel deeply sorry and sad about hurting Chinese people,” Stone said in the statement. “I am willing to take part in the relief work of China’s earthquake, and wholly devote myself to helping affected Chinese people.’ Stone said she had worked in international charities for the past 20 years and wants to help Chinese people. During her visit to China last year for the Shanghai Movie Festival she said she felt ‘deeply the Chinese people’s wisdom and hospitality.’

There’s some massive damage control going on in Stone’s world to be sure. What do you think about the apology?

well – she has to remember that it’s not the government that was swallowed up by the earth or is being flooded – it’s the citizens of the country. even if she thought it, good grace, sensitivity, and humanity should have forced her to hold her tongue.

i am amazed at what people do with “freedom of speech.” alas, everything has consequences and if she was not irrelevant before, she most certainly will be now.

I guess by her logic, the US deserved 9-11. She’s a foolish woman.

I think maybe she had one too many drinks, then a microphone was put in her face.

    Big mistake!
