Some of the best fun I've had with my family has been after a hurricane when we had no electricity for months. I'll qualify that by saying I'm originally from the Virgin Islands, so it's not unusual to lose power after a hurricane and be without it for months at a time, so we were prepared for it -- cooking on a camping stove, catching rainwater in barrels and our sistern, etc. I'm sure it would take some getting used to now that I am acclimated to air conditioning in the hot Georgia summers, but it's a cool idea to consider.
