DJ Roger Sanchez Mixing Up A Track On Global Warming

Unfortunately, his personal commitment is out of tune.

June 10th 2008

US House star Roger Sanchez has announced plans to remix a music track in support of the “Danger Global Warning” campaign. The aim of the project is to create “an interactive multimedia creative initiative featuring original images, sound and video material designed to raise awareness of climate change worldwide.” So far, a mass of artists — including Bruce La Bruce, Mike Figgis and X Files actress Gillian Anderson — have joined for the cause.

“I think just like most people I have recently become far more aware of the implications of our behavior on the world,” Sanchez recently said, “I know I don’t do enough personally though and I guess it will come down to rules being put in place that will force us all to take better care of the environment.”

Whether those that support the cause truly take their own words to heart remains to be seen. Sanchez admits that he has yet to reduce his fleet of five luxury cars — or trade some in for something a bit more earth-friendly. “I considered it for less then a millisecond but then considered that I don’t want to take my tour manager, my records, my wife and two kids on the back of my bike – so that was thrown out,” he laughed.

Funny, but now you look like an ass for not coming up with at least one change in your own life to make us believe in your green epiphany. For now, I guess we can throw Sachez into that class of people that need to be told what to do, rather than seeing for themselves the right choice. He may make the beats, but in terms of the environment, he’s certainly not hearing the music.

  1. That’s pretty lame. Did he not think people were going to ask him questions like that? Yeah, Roger, the only alternative to a fleet of five luxury cars is a bicycle (::sarcasm::).
