Hillary Duff Is A Monster Polluter With Her Gas-Guzzling SUV

Can we just talk for a second about SUV’s? Yeah, you know SUV’s totally suck because they are HUGE gas-guzzlers and monster super polluters, but every now and then when I see an SUV filled to capacity I think, “Ok, maybe they’re carpooling. I mean one SUV is surely better than like three or four mid-size cars, right?” But let’s be honest…I don’t think Hillary Duff is that big on carpooling.

Duff was recently photographed at an L.A gas station filling up her Mercedes-Benz G-class SUV. While it’s a hot looking ride, the G-class only gets a despicable 12MPG in the city. WTF?!!!!!!!! And I don’t know if you’ve ever seen Hillary in person, but this chick is like a tiny, tiny girl. What in the world does she need a huge environment suffocating vehicle for?

So Hillary, listen, if you REALLY want an SUV why not at least go with the Ford Escape Hybrid which gets 37MPG or the Lexus RX 400h which gets 32MPG?! Or better yet, ditch the big wheels and hold out for the new Toyota Prius which is rumored to clock in at 94MPG! Young people look to you to set the example and nothing says “I care about the environment” more than a super-sexy hybrid. Please…I’m kinda begging here.

    Everytime I see a star in a monster vehicle like this, I think of a scene from the kids’ movie “Over the Hedge” when the people-savvy raccoon was trying to teach the naive forest animals about the way humans live. A woman drove by in a huge SUV and one of the animals goes “Wow! How many of them ride in that?” And the raccoon replies, “Usually, one.” Sad, but true.

    You are free to criticize, but your criticism in itself is anti-American. The country is all about freedom. If you choose to drive a mini-car, bully for you. If you choose to ride a bike, that’s great. If Hillary feels safe in a big bad SUV, and she can PAY for the gasoline to drive it (she obviously can), that is HER business and hers alone. She’s not hurting you, or me, or anyone else by driving a car that gets that kind of mileage. The world is not going to fall apart because people have big cars. I think a lot of the eco-militantism is based in jealousy. Believe me, if you make millions like Hillary does, you can drive a big ol’ SUV and pay for the gas it costs to run it. No one’s hurt by her free choice. Thanks for hearing me out.
