Ben Affleck Raises Money For The One X One Campaign

Filed under: campaigns, events — parrish @ 12:04 pm

Ben Affleck recently spent some time in Canada hosting an event for the One X One foundation — a charity that helps raise money for children in need.

Affleck discovered the group while doing charitable work in Africa and said: “I’ve spent a lot of time working in Africa, and actually met up with One X One a couple of months ago in Rwanda. They said, ‘Hey, we’re doing this event in Calgary. Would you come do this?’

Affleck attended the gala with several other famous Canadians, including Edmonton Oilers defenceman Sheldon Souray, former Canadian Idol winner Eva Avila, Phil Fontaine, national chief of the Assembly of First Nations and Mayor Dave Bronconnier.

Overall the group has raised more than $7 million dollars for charity since 2005 and last year held an event in Toronto that raised more than $3.5 million. One X One will be back in Toronto this September for it’s fourth annual gala hosted by Affleck’s long time friend, Matt Damon
